35 For 35

7 Apr

Today is my 35th Birthday! How did that happen? It was like yesterday I was 33 and the day before that I was 30 and the day before that I was 25…you get the point! I have been trying to figure out something to do for my birthday and I came up with nothing! Jesica from rUNladylike’s 32nd birthday was on April Fool’s Day and she did a post on 32 things for a 32 year old.

I thought I would sit down and write a bucket list because I have never done that before. I wanted to do a list of all different sorts of things. Not anyone subject. I started writing items down and thought I would never get to 35 things but sure enough I did!!

For my 35th birthday, I give you 35 things I want to do, races I want to race, and places I want to travel! No specific order but some of these things will be done this year!!

1. Get a new career
2. Go to pastry school
3. Buy a tri bike
4. Come up with a great idea and pitch it in the Shark Tank
5. Lake Placid Ironman
6. Move to Europe
7. Be a wife
8. Write a book
9. New York Marathon

14. See The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon
15. Do a 6-leg ultra relay
16. 5 more stamps in my passport before it expires (June 2017)
17. Camping in Montana
18. Take a letterpress class
19. Get my sister-in-law to name their first born Cooper(her maiden name)
20. White water raft through the Grand Canyon
21. Space Coast Marathon
22. Learn to surf in Costa Rica
23. Master a Wicked Good Cupcake
24. Learn to “can”–for salsa and pasta sauce
25. Be in Sydney Australia for New Years Eve
26. Learn to stand up paddle board
27. Bike around New Zealand
28. Participate in Maupin bike fest
29. Sub 2 hour 1/2 marathon

Happy birthday and congrats on your amazing list. Being quite a bit older than you a lot has been ticked off my list. Run a marathon was last Dec. I don’t know how that got on there 🙂 Things left include an African safari and a trip to Antarctica.

Thanks!! Wow!! My friend just went on an African safari and loved it!! The trips will be much easier than the marathon!! 🙂

Happy birthday! Such a great list! I started working on a list like this after turning 32 in January. I think writing down our dreams and goals is the first step in making them a reality!

Happy, happy birthday Leslie! I love your list, especially the backpack through South America and move to Europe!
And I’m pushing my sister to name her boy (due in July) Kerr, our maiden name!

    • Leslie @ TriathleteTreats April 8, 2014 at 9:58 AM #

Thanks!!! Yes!! Kerr would be an awesome name but you don’t want to name your child that??!! 🙂

HAPPY 35TH BIRTHDAY FRIEND! We’ll celebrate with a 20 miler on Sunday:) Sorry I am a day late, lots going on – you’ll hear all about it Sunday. LOVE the list, especially the move to Europe part. I made a similar list a few months ago. I’ll post it soon, I think we have some overlap!

Happy birthday Leslie!! I love the list…especially white water rafting in the Grand Canyon, learning to surf in Costa Rica and bicycling around New Zealand. I definitely want to do the New Zealand Ironman someday, which would definitely allow me to cycle part of New Zealand.

    • Leslie @ TriathleteTreats April 8, 2014 at 9:55 AM #

Thanks!!! I was in Taupo in 2012 a couple days before the Ironman and on my way to the south island by the time the race was happening but it would have been awesome to be there!! 🙂

  15. erin April 9, 2014 at 4:38 AM #

Awww, so fun! Hope you had a WONDERFUL birthday, Leslie! I turn 35 later this year, too, and we have so many of the same to-dos! Three musts off your list: take a letterpress class (so fun!), learn to surf in Costa Rica (best vacation of my life! Surfing is way harder than it looks!) and SUP! You’ve inspired me to write my own list of 35 🙂

    • Leslie @ TriathleteTreats April 10, 2014 at 6:03 PM #

Yes! You were the one to inspire me to take the letterpress class(I am still looking for one) and I have never tried to surf because I thought it would be too hard!! 🙂
Can’t wait to see your list!!!

  16. Holly April 9, 2014 at 2:27 PM #

Can I please be a part of #11??? LOVE this list…#getitgirl and make it happen!

  17. Kristen @ Glitter and Dust April 9, 2014 at 3:31 PM #

Happy Birthday, Leslie! Now THAT is a bucket list. If you come up with a product for Shark Tank, I will buy it. 🙂 Also, I have heard amazing things about Maupin Bike Fest – that is so cool that it made your list! My bucket list seems like a mile long but at the top of the list is complete an Ironman, go to Disney World, qualify for Boston, and climb Mt. Kilimanjaro.

    • Leslie @ TriathleteTreats April 10, 2014 at 5:37 PM #

I would totally be doing Maupin this year but I am running Big Sur Marathon that weekend. Maybe next year!!
Those sound like great items for your list!! 🙂

  18. FitnessFatale April 10, 2014 at 9:40 PM #

    Happy Birthday!
