The big “get a date” challenge happened last night. I had a few prospects in mind. None at which I really wanted to ask because I was not interested in them but thought they would be fun to go with regardless. Then Plan Z commenced. He is a server at the bar we had ladies night at in January. We coaxed him into getting involved in the TNT date auction that happens every year. Fast forward one of the originators of the coaxing was at the restaurant on Sunday. He was their server. He does not work on Wednesday. He was then persuaded to take a chance on me go to a free show.
Let’s call my date Plan Z (PZ for short) just for the heck of it. I told him he better bring his A game. It started rough. He was late. I had a miscommunication with the bitch bartender.

Once he arrived it was smooth sailing. I proceeded to tell him how this date became a date. He wanted to get me something for Valentine’s Day. He was not sure what. He has read my blog and knows I am training so he did not want to get me chocolate (he has no idea)! He brought me some pink shoes laces and socks. So cute! What a fun surprise.

We met up with Sheryl and her date!! We got drinks and food. Watched Mortified! Laughed a lot! Had a great time! PZ walked me back to my car, gave me a big hug, and wished me a Happy Valentine’s Day.
We texted late night. I was feeling feisty tired and pretty much said he should ask me out for Valentines day! He agreed! Cray Cray!

Fast forward to today: Happy Valentine’s Day! Or more accurately Happy Single’s Awareness day!
I had a mediocre great swim this morning. Just Mark and I again busting out threshold pace 100 and 200’s all morning. Laura swam with us on Tuesday and luckily enough she swam with her regular lane today. Or it would have been worse!
PZ and I went on a hike through Eagle Creek. We had gotten sandwiches from East Side Deli to have a picnic. It was a perfect Valentine’s day on the trail.

After PZ and I were done tromping through the woods, Jessica and I had a date to do some baking. I begged her to let me come over and use her kitchen. Of course she does not have a dishwasher either! What was wrong with people in the old in days? Dishwashers are like air. You NEED them!!

We made Monster Cookies. It was like a peanut butter oatmeal cookie with chocolate chips and peanut MnMs. DELICIOUS!
This was the best Valentine’s Day I have had in a long time!! I am pretty sure PZ did not know he was going to be my Valentine when he signed up for this on Sunday!
How was your Valentine’s day?
